The Big Day
Today was pay day in Squidoo-land. It turned out pretty much as I had suspected, with $246 from Squidoo. My lens rank fell quite a bit in September so I don’t know that I expect much better next month unless I make more Amazon sales or something. Still keeping my fingers crossed for $350/month by the end of the year. I can always dream, right?
Spent a bit of time on a new lens, the Influence of Advertising, which covers information about marketing campaigns which target children. It’s just a complement to my Influence of Media and Television and Children lenses which cover information about media violence and the effects of media images on body image, sexual role development, and so forth.
Tomorrow I need to start something new, hopefully an idea will come to me in my sleep! Then I’m off on Wednesday to take care of some medical appointments with my mom. Hope pay day was kind to everyone.

My payout was only $61 but I am thrilled to get it.

That is great - I am hoping for that eventually, but I know how hard you have to work to get there and that it takes time. Am still climbing a steep learning curve!

You did really great considering you haven’t been on Squidoo that long, great job
I did better than ever before with $128, but that includes the 1-time bonus and also no sales from Amazon etc. September my lens ranks went down so I expect half of that, and so far this month things just continue to go down, it’s really frustrating.

I don’t really have answers. I can say that my lenses with the most affiliate sales are not the ones with the highest lensrank. They are the ones that are very “specific” and which target phrases that are searched a bit less often but are also less competitive. That’s my assessment of it anyway.
For example, in my niche I can’t make a sale with something targeting cell phones…too competitive. “Best Cell Phones” won’t get me anywhere either, however “Cell Phones for the Hearing Impaired” has been a consistent earner for months. Can’t make anything with “TV”, “Best TV”, “Plasma TV” or anything like that…but “A TV for the Kitchen” brings in some sales. I’m pretty sure you already know this kind of thing, but that’s been my only assessment so far. If a light bulb comes on I’ll certainly share it!
