I Don’t Chase Lens Rank But…
I’ve been keeping 20 to 22 of my lenses in the top tier this month. This is good news because it’s close to my pre-Christmas shopping season performance. The bad news is that I don’t think it’s consistenly the same lenses so I doubt I’ll get top tier payment for all of them. I’m not good about tracking my statistics so I can’t be sure. I think it’s a rebellion on my part. After spending years of tracking all kinds of indicators, statistics, and such I just refuse to do it right now. Not smart, but it’s working for me at the moment, psychologically speaking. Of course, the other bad news is that I probably have 60 more lenses than I did at Christmas time and still only the same number in the top tier.
Lensrank isn’t the most critical aspect of my revenue but it certainly doesn’t hurt!
Anyway, the past several days have been busy for me out in the real world but I have squeezed in a few new lenses. I did one that I had been putting off for a while about broccoli recipes. I love broccoli, but mostly I eat it plain with just a bit of garlic and butter. I have a number of favorite recipes but they belong to someone else, so I linked to a few and then dredged up a couple that were more or less my own to use.
Another in my “wall art” series of lenses was completed. This one was on pictures of the sun. Then this morning I finished one about the Monon Trail . It’s the primary bike trail in Indianapolis, where I lived for many years. I included quite a few pictures that I took one afternoon while riding and tried to provide a decent description of the various things to see and do along the length of the trail.

Nicely done work on the broccoli lens. Be sure to add it to the Culinary Favorites From A to Z group!
I always check the lensrank and the number of visitors although I know we shouldn’t be obsessed with it. For me, it is an important part of my revenue even though I do make some affiliate sales. (You know by that statement that I’m not getting rich!) I tracked the rank for awhile but it is too much work to do now.

Well I do track my Lensrank because I like to see things laid out on a spreadsheet to be able to understand them and it has helped me identify where maybe things are working and things are not. It probably takes me ten minutes a day because its only 42 lenses. I don’t know what I will do when it is twice that number but at the rate that I publish I probably wont have to worry about that for another year or so.
What would be great would be the facility to download our stats….

20 to 22 on average? Wow. That’s amazing. I bet that at least 15 of those will have average top tier lensrank, if not simply 20
Keep up the good work!

I found your broccoli recipe Lens, and Lenrolled it with my new broccoli sprouts Lens. I’ll have to see if I can adapt any of those recipes to use sprouts, since I’m making so many!
